And, the hits keep coming against Vista and the “I’m a PC” ad campaign. Taking the baton from “Bake Sale”, “Bean Counter”, the 49th Mac versus PC ad which also aired in October of 2008, PC is now playing the role of an accountant or bean counter. Wearing a black vest and clear green visor to complete the motif, PC sits at a desk, counting stacks of paper money. That said, he seems to have had a personality shift from that of “Bake Sale”, since now he too is allocating most of PCs budget to advertising, as opposed to fixing any of Vista’s problems at all.

Mac, of course, asks what the game is, to which PC responds, “Oh, I’m just doing a little budgeting,” says PC, with a large stack representing advertising budget allocations and a tiny one for Vista repairs. “You know, with all the Vista problems frustrating PC users, I’ve decided to take drastic action.”

“By investing in advertising,” Mac flatly points out.

“Yes. advertising” PC agrees, gesturing to the large stack of money. “I’m also putting something towards solving Vista’s problems,” he continues, hovering his hand of two small bundles of cash.

Mac is incredulous. “You really think that amount of money is going to help fixVista?”

PC takes a second look at the piddly amount of money on the right and agrees, only to slide all of the money to the left, “Put it all towards advertising.”

And, in the eyes of many, that’s precisely what Microsoft has done. Another point goes to Mac.
